Australian GP, Adelaide. Won by Gerhard Berger in a Ferrari.

Australian GP. Adelaide hosted the last GP once again. Nigel Mansell was a nonstarter ,having been hurt in Japaneses GP. Gerhard Berger got pole in the Ferrari from Prost (McLaren-TAG) and Piquet (Williams Honda). From the flag fall it was Berger race he dominated it followed by Piquet & Senna. Brakes were a big problem around the streets.Lap 58 Piquet lost his and soon it was Prost turn to get a long peddle and become one of the 16 cars that retired due tot the very hot conditions. In the end it was Berger 1st, Senna (Lotus) 2nd & M.Alboreto - 3rd . However in parc ferme the Scrutineers disqualified the Lotus for being 5mm to big in the brake ducts and it became a 1-2 for Ferrari, M.Alboreto moved up to 2nd and T.Bousten in the Benneton-Ford 3rd. WDC table ended Nelson Piquet getting his 3 title with 73 points from Mansell 61 & Senna 57.
