Legendary Nascar driver Junior Johnson was released from prison after serving 11 months for making illegal whiskey.

Junior's family made moonshine in the back hills of North Carolina to help with finances during the Great Depression, and even as a child, Junior was an integral part of the operation. A 1948 raid at the Johnson house resulted in the largest inland seizure of illegal whiskey in U.S. history. But hauling moonshine on winding dirt roads helped shape the fearless "win-or-crash-trying" attitude that defined Junior's NASCAR career.
