Markus Friesacher, no relation to Patrick, is an Austrian driver who raced in F3000 in 1997 and 1999 without any success.
Markus Friesacher, no relation to Patrick, was born in Salzburg and started racing after attending the Walter Lechner Racing School in 1992.
He drove 3 races in Austrian formula Ford in 1993 before a full season in Austrian and German Formula Ford 1600 the following year ending as runner up in the series.
In 1995 he graduated to International German Formula 3B with the Team Marko Dallara Fiat. Another season in F3 followed driving for Team Tokmadidis in a Dalara Opel. He finished 4th in the Austrian Formula 3 Championship and 9th in the German.
In 1997 he moved up to F3000 with Coloni participating in 10 rounds. He failed to qualify for seven, retired in another and posted a 17th and a 19th in the other two races. The next year he raced in Formula Holden finishing 5th in the championship.
He made another attempt at F3000 in 1999 with the Marko Junior team but failed to qualify for the three races he entered.
