Tony Goodwin
Tony Goodwin started racing in 1956 in F1172 at Silverstone. He raced Ford 10 Specials against Eric Broadley, Len Terry, Arthur Mallock and Brian Hart. A winner, and Monoposto Champion, in 1960 with Goodwin Special, Peagasus, Lotus VIIGT. He graduated to International F3 in 1964 with an old front engined ex Formula Junior Lola against J Stewart etc. Finished 5th at Snetterton, 9th at Goodwood and 12th at Monaco.

Tony was posted to the Far East by the RAF where he continued to race. He was 7th in the Macau GP and 3rd in the following years Malaysian GP with the old Lola. He was then 3rd in the Macau GP in a Lotus 20B after its remains blocked the track and halted the race on the penultimate lap! He was third in the 1966 Singapore GP, 2nd in Kuala Lumper and Singapore Champion in the same car.

In 1967 Tony was a full time, "F3 Gypsy" with a Brabham BT18. He competed in 12 countries but with only one victory which came in Yugoslavia.

In 1968 Tony turned his hand to long distance racing. He entered the Spa 1000km GP in a Chevron BMW B6 and came 3rd in class. He repeated this in 1970 and then, in the same car, he had wins at the Spa1000km and the Nurburgring 1000km, 1971. A crash at Nurburgring in a Dulon FVC in 1973 led to drives in new Chevrons and Lola's (1st in class Spa 1000km 1974, Lola 294 with Martin Raymond). Last proper race was at Osterreichring 1000km 1975, (Chevron B36).

From 1974 Tony contested Historic events. He raced cars such as a Lotus XI, Diva GT, Cooper T56, Elva 8s, Ausper FJ and a Merlyn 6A. He won at the "new" Spa and the "new" Nurburgring (1984-85) and in a Brabham BT21 at Elkhart Lake 1988 - 89. Tony retired to help his son, Chris, start his racing career.
