Argentinian racing driver. Competed in Touring Cars, winning the Turismo de Carretera three years running from 1983 to 1985 driving a Dodge.
Roberto José "Toro" Mouras was born in Carlos Casares (Province of Buenos Aires), Argentina, the 16 of February of 1948.
He was the only son of Donates Ines Serrani and Don Roberto Mouras. He spent his childhood in Moctezuma.
He had always been interested in racing and when he was 18 he took to the tracks with a Chevrolet 400 in the Showrrom Stock class in Alberti, Buenos Aires.
In 1970 he moved into the Turismo de Carretera, taking 49 wins from 259 races. He stood onthe podium 91 times and took three championships: 1983, 1984 and 1985, all with Dodge.
He died on 22 of November of 1992, while leading the Circuito de Lobos. His car crashed into an earth bank. One account says that the winner of the race dedicated it to him which would have been his 50th victory. However a contemporary story on the 25th anniversary of his passing stated that he had actually crossed the finish line before a broken left front tire pitched him in to the bank where he sustained fatal injuries. He was apparently declared the winner post mortem, his 50th win!
