South Africa Grand Prix, Kyalami. Won by Niki Lauda in a Ferrari

Niki Lauda led every lap to win the F1 South African GP in a Ferrari. A deflating tire forced Lauda to slow in the late laps, but a hard charging James Hunt still finished 1.3 seconds behind in his McLaren. Before the race, the Lotus and March teams made a "trade" with the unhappy Ronnie Peterson moving to March in exchange for Lotus receiving the rights to F3 star Gunnar Nilsson.
