Bayliss raced in the United States, on the West Coast and Midwest, in the 1930s and 40s up until WW II.
After the war Levrett resumed racing on the West Coast.
In 1949 he raced in the Indianapolis 500 and qualified 29th. Unfounately a leaking drain plug in the sump put him out after 52 laps. He finished in 24th position. In 1950 Bayliss returned to Indy, started 17th and finished 27th after being forced out after 109 laps due to low oil pressure.
He retired in 1952 after a practice crash at Indianapolis in which he was badly burnt.
Bayliss Levrett passed away on March 13, 2003 in Reno, Nevada.
