Paul Mears Jr
Mears' father started a cab company in 1939 and Paul Jr. joined the company in 1969, and in 1983 branched out on his own and started a bus and shuttle bus operation. The family cab company now has 600 cabs, while the motor coach fleet has 175 buses, 150 shuttle vans, 160 Lincoln Town Cars and 20 limousines. He sports a colorful parrot and tropical flowers on his racing helmet having spent 22 years deep sea fishing on his own boat and in the Carribean and he wanted to capture that life style, hence the helmet design. He raced motorcycles for 11 years and then got involved in boats. He got involved in motor racing by accident. He and his son went over to Sebring to watch an SCCA race one day where they met Sylvain Tremblay. They were impressed with the little Mazdas he was doing. That was on a Sunday. On the following Monday, he bought two of them so that he could go racing with his son. One thing led to another, and he went from driving a $30,000 Mazda to a Daytona Prototype.
