Albert Baron de Bomdeli was born in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. on 16 April 1901.

He moved to France, living in Paris most of the year but heading south to the Riviera in the winter. He was a Bugatti owner-driver in 1929 and 1930 with limited success as, aside from a class win at Tunis in November 1929, he either didn't show up or failed to finish.

His racing came to an end when he lost a leg in an road accident near Avignon in France. He sold his Bugatti T37A and purchased the 1929 Monaco GP winning Bugatti T35B (4914) for his protégé, a young racing driver called René Dreyfus.
