Drove a Veritas-BMW in the early 1950s and retired from his only World Championship outing in the 1952 German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring.

Peters was a stalwart of the buoyant German domestic series of the early fifties driving his trusty two-seater Veritas.

He retired on his only World Championship outing, the 1952 German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring.

Mostly he just seemed to make up the numbers, but he finished third in the 1953 Formula 2 race at Grenzlandring, a well-supported meeting marred by the accident in which Helmut Niedermayr's car crashed into the crowd killing at least 13 spectators and injuring many others.

The sports-bodied Veritas was put to good use in the 1953 Nurburgring 1000 Km, when Josef and Wolfgang Seidel took fifth place overall and won the 1500 cc-2000 cc class.
