Philip Verellen
Verellen was a highly respected and versatile racing driver as well as a member of the motoring press and a TV commentator. In his 15 years racing career he was Procar champion three times, entered Le Mans twice finishing 25th in 1993 in a 500LM Venturi and 24th in the 911 GT3R Porsche of Club Renstal Excelsior with Penders/Dujardyn. He also drove in the Spa 24 hour race on several occasions. He competed in three seasons of British Rover Turbo Cup (1994, 1995, 1996) and raced a remarkable array of cars including the Renault Spider Trophy 1997. As a regular Belcar contender he won the Belpro race at Spa behind the wheel of a Viper GTS-R in 2001.

He died on Thursday 09 May 2002 as a consequence of a major illness.
