Andrew Gilbert-Scott

Andrew Gilbert-Scott was born in Cookham Dene, England. He started racing in Formula Ford in 1981.

In 1983 he drove for Pegasus Motorsport as its lead driver in Formula Ford 1600 with Graham de Zille as the second driver in the works-assisted Lola outfit. The team enjoyed immediate success with Gilbert-Scott winning the RAC and Townsend Thoresen Championships and de Zille the BP Superfind junior FF1600 title. Gilbert-Scott rounded off the year by winning the important Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch.

In 1985 he graduated to F3 and to F3000 in 1986.

1987 saw Andrew racing sports cars in the SportsPrototype World Championship in a RC Racing March 85G and a Toms 86C Toyota in the All Japan SportsPrototype Championship. He raced mainly in Japan in 1988 in the All Japan Formula 3 Championship in the Auto Beaurex Reynard 883 Toyota and a Toms 87C Toyota in the All Japan SportsPrototype Championship.

The 1989 he had further successes in the British F3000 series with the Eddie Jordan Racing Reynard 88D DFV. He also raced in the FIA International Formula 3000 Championship for GA Motorsport in their Lola T89/50 DFV. He raced at le Mans as part of the Silk Cut Jaguar team in the Jaguar XJR-9LM.

In 1990 Andrew raced in the FIA International Formula 3000 Championship with the Leyton House Reynard 90D and in 1991 with the Roni Ralt RT23.

In 1992 he was back in Japan in the All Japan Formula 3000 Champioship with Stellar racing a Lola T90 and a Reynard 92D, he also drove their BMW M3 in the All Japan Touringcar Championship.
 
Staying with Stellar in 1993 in Japanese F3000 he drove a Lola T92/50 and the M3 in touring cars. He continued with Stellar in Japanese F3000 untill the end of 1995 when he switched to the JAF Formula Nippon Championship, still with Stellar.

In 1997 he drove in the Formula Nippon Championship and at Le Mans 24th Heures he drove the Gulf Team Davidoff McLaren F1 GTR.
 
He is currently Takuma Sato's manager.
