Geoff Friswell started his racing career on bikes, aged 16. He competed in Moto Cross until he was 21 when he switched to four wheels and raced his MGB. Between1968, and retirement in 1981 he notched up 250 race starts.

He was best known for racing a Mallock U2 Clubmans Car, during '71, '72 and '75 winning a total of 49 races. However he feels that his best season was in Formula Atlantic, 1973, after which he won a Grovewood Award Commendation.

Geoff was British Clubmans Champion twice in 1972 and '75 and also won the Alcoa "Driver of the Year" award in 1975. He was the only Clubmans driver to set a circuit outright lap record (twice) at Cadwell Park in 1972 and ' 75. Other notable achievements include BP Man of the meeting awards in 1971 '72 and '73. He was elected to the BRDC in 1976.

Lack of meaningful sponsorship and a broken back at Mallory Park in 1980 forced his retirement from car racing.

Geoff took up Veteran Speedway Racing in 2002, and rides for the Coventry 'Bees' Veterans
