Tracy Krohn an entrepreneur and recent addition to the Forbes 400 list of the wealthiest Americans, is a driver and team owner competing in the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series.

Tracy Krohn lives in Houston and is an entrepreneur, business mogul and auto racing enthusiast who was a new addition to the 2006 Forbes 400 list of the wealthiest Americans, at number 320. He has a petroleum engineering degree from Louisiana State University and has worked as an engineer and drilling supervisor for Mobil Oil. He makes a living by, as he describes it, going treasure hunting every day. His company, W&T Offshore, is in the business of oil and gas exploration and production. Krohn took the start-up he launched in 1983 with a mere $12,000 to its current status as a publicly held company with working interest in about 110 fields.

He graduated from the Panoz Racing School and started racing in 2002 in the Panoz GT Pro Series, finishing second in the series the following year.

In 2004 he made two Rolex replica Series starts, with a best finish of fifth in the SGS class. He also raced in Grand-Am Cup Series GS championship with a best finish of third. In his three ALMS GTS starts he finished on the podium once.

His formed his own racing team in 2005 as a partnership between longtime sports car owner Kevin Buckler's The Racers Group organization and Tracy Krohn. He drove in 12 Rolex Series races and took his first career overall victory in the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen.

In 2006, Krohn split from TRG to run the team as an independent operation. They run a pair of Pontiac powered Riley chassis in the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series. At 6-foot 3-inches, Krohn is one of the tallest drivers in the Rolex Series. In the 2006 Daytona 24 hour race he finished fifth overall and the highest Pontiac-powered car.
