Antonio Tamburini
Tamburini was born in Cartona, nr. Arezzo in Italy. He started karting in 1982 before moving into single seaters in 1985. In 1988 he won the F3 support race at the Monaco Grand Prix driving a Dallara F388 Alfa Romeo.

1989 saw him tackle a full season of F3. He came second in the Italian F3 Championship driving a Reynard 893 Alfa Romeo and once again won the Monaco F3 event.

In 1990 he moved up to FIA Formula 3000. Driving for Roni, he had a disapointing season finishing 13th with just 6 points from his ten starts. A switch to Pacific Racing in 1991 saw an improvement in form and his first F3000 win in the round at Le Mans. 4th in the Championship on 22 points saw interest from Larousse Lamborghini F1 team however this did not materialise and he made the move to touring cars in 1992.

In his first season of the Italian Super Touring Car Championship he took one win and 8 podiums driving the Jolly Club Alfa Romeo 155 GTA to 4th overall in the series.

For 1993 he was back for a limited season in F3000. However his three races yeided nothing so it was back to the Italian Super Touring Car Championship for 1994. Driving an Alfa Romeo 155 he scored 182 points to finish runner up. Staying with the Alfa Romeo in 1995 he finished 4th on 179 points.

More touring car races followed before winding down his racing at the end of the 1997 season.

Tamburini now competes at the highest level in yachting, racing in the Star Class.
