After racing in British junior championships followed by 2 unsuccessful years in GP2, Fairuz Fauzy joined th Spyker F1 team as a test and reserve driver for 2007. He also races in the World Series by Renault.

Mohamed Fairuz Fauzy was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Fauzy started competing in karts in 1994 before making the move to British Formula Ford Zetec Championship at the start of 1999.

He moved to British Formula Renault in 2000 as well as continuing to race in Formula Ford. He finished 12th in the Formula Ford Zetec Championship and 9th in the British Formula Renault Sport Winter Series.

In 2001 he finished 7th in overall standings in the British Formula Renault Championship before graduating to British Formula 3 in 2002, albeit in the B-Class. He came 9th in overall standings, taking 5 podium finishes.

Moving up to the main class in 2003, he drove for both the SYR and Promatecme teams, finishing 16th in overall standings. He made the trip to Macau for the F3 Grand Prix finishing 9th overall.

In 2004 he drove for both the Menu and P1 teams in British F3 with a best finish of 2nd overall at Oulton Park.

He moved to the GP2 Series for 2005 with DAMS, becoming one of a number of Asian drivers in the championship, but failed to score any points. His best result was 7th at Barcelona. He also raced in the A1GP Series with Team Malaysia along with Alex Yoong, finishing 8th at Estoril and Sepang.

He continued in the GP2 series for 2006 with Super Nova Racing. Once again failing to score any points.

Currently racing for the Spyker F1 Team as the reserve and friday test driver and also in World Series by Renault with Cram Competition.
