After starting his racing in France in the 1950s, sportscar driver Lino Fayen emigrated to Venezuela and enjoyed a new career there.
Léon Marcel Louis Fayen first came to note in 1953 when he won a touring-car race at Montlhéry at the wheel of a Ferrari. He subsequently drove a 4½-litre Talbot at Casablanca and Le Mans, acting as Pierre Levegh’s co-driver in the 1954 24hr classic but failing to finish.
Fayen’s next appearance on the record was at the end of 1956, when he drove an OSCA to victory in the 1500 class of the Venezuela GP, but an appearance in the Buenos Aires world championshipp round two months later resulted in retirement.
He was back at Le Mans in 1959, sharing a Ferrari 250GT with Gino Munaron and finishing in sixth place overall.
He then returned to his motor business in Caracas.
