The 1993 Spanish Grand Prix was held on 9 May 1993 at the Circuit de Catalunya. The Williams cars of Alain Prost and Damon Hill were on the front row and the race was won by Alain Prost with Senna second in a McLaren and Michael Schumacher third for Benetton.

From the start Hill and Prost pulled away from the rest with Prost passing Hill on lap 11. Hill closed up but then retired when his engine failed on lap 41. Schumacher and Senna both pitted for tyres late in the race. Senna's stop was slow and Schumacher closed in but an 'off' when he had to go off line to pass the smoking Lotus of Alessandro Zanardi ended his challenge. Prost won from Senna, Schumacher, Patrese, Andretti and Berger.
