Mike Mosley won five Indy Car races and competed in 15 Indianapolis 500's. He was one of Indy's most popular drivers. Tragically, he lost his life in a highway accident in 1984.

Mike Mosley was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He raced in the USAC and CART Championship Car series for 17 consecutive seasons from 1967 until 1983. He made 166 career starts, including every Indianapolis 500 in that span except for 1967 and 1982. He finished in the top ten 80 times and had 5 victories, including 3 at Milwaukee. Two of his wins were from last to first. He started last on the grid in the spring 1974 race at Phoenix and went on to win and he did it again at Milwaukee in June 1981. His best finish in the Indy 500 was third in 1979.

One of Indy's most popular drivers, he tragically lost his life in a highway accident in 1984 near Riverside, California.

His son Mike Mosley Jr is currently racing in the USA.
