Andy Wallace is a professional race car driver from the United Kingdom, who has been racing since 1979. He has raced sports prototypes since 1988, winning over 25 International Sports car races including the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 24 Hours of Daytona (3 times) and the 12 Hours of Sebring (2 times)
Andy Wallace, one of the most successful drivers in sportscar racing, attended the Jim Russell Racing Drivers' School at Silverstone in 1976.
He started racing in 1979 at Silverstone in FF1600 driving a Van Diemen RF78. For 1980 he purchased a 1973 Hawke DL11 and raced in the pre-1974 FF1600 Championship, winning 6 of the 12 races and the Championship.
For the next three years he raced in contemporary FF1600, winning about 15 races.
For 1984 he moved to FF 2000 taking 5 wins and in 1985 switched to British F3 Championship taking 3 wins.
In 1986 he won the British F3 Championship with 12 wins, he also won the the Macau GP.
Looking to move into F1 he raced in the FIA F3000 Championship in 1987 and 1988, but at the same time started racing with TWR Jaguar in their Group C Sportscar Team.
Since then he has raced Prototype Sportscars in Europe, USA and Japan, for various manufacturers including - Jaguar, Toyota, McLaren, Panoz, Riley & Scott, Lister, Audi, Cadillac and Bentley.
Have won in excess of 25 International Sportscar races including the 24 hours of Le Mans, the 24 hours of Daytona (3 times), the 12 hours of Sebring (twice) and the Petit Le Mans 1000 miles.
In 1998 he broke the world speed record for production cars when he drove the McLaren F1 sports car at 241 mph in Germany.

In 2006 e drove at Sebring with James Weaver and Butch Leitizinger in new AER-powered Lola B06/10, finishing fifth overall and second in class. At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Wallace finished on top in the LMP2 class as he joined Thomas Erdos and Mike Newton in RML’s Lola AER that completed 343 laps around the Circuit de la Sarthe. Wallace and company led the LMP2 field throughout most of the race en route to the 17-lap class victory — Wallace’s second career win at Le Mans. At Lime Rock, Wallace debuted for Highcroft Racing as he teamed with Duncan Dayton. The duo completed 81 laps before a throttle issue ended their race. At Salt Lake City, Wallace and Dayton combined on a 62-lap effort that produced a fifth in class (sixth overall) showing at the inaugural Utah Grand Prix. At Portland, the Wallace/Dayton duo completed 134 laps after overcoming a collision with one of the Porsche RS Spyders in the Festival Curves. The Lola eventually finished fifth in class (sixth overall). At Road America, he and Dayton battled with Dyson Lolas and Porsches for sixth-place overall and fourth in P1. At Petit Le Mans, an oil system failure retired the Dyson Lola entry of Wallace, Weaver and Leitzinger after 221 laps. Engine fire saddled the trio with a sixth-place class finish (24th overall).
