Born in the Danish capital Copenhagen on March 3rd 1978, Nicolas Kiesa started his career in karting, in which he was a leading player for eight years, winning three national and two Scandinavian event titles for the Italian Tony-Kart concern. In 1998 he changed to single-seaters, after reaching European and World level karting and winning more than 160 trophies. Kiesa's first season in the British Formula Ford Championship came with the ADR Motorsport team and ended with third place in the rankings and third in the Formula Ford Festival world final. In 1999 he stayed in the championship, this time driving a Mygale SJ99 for the Haywood Racing team. He clinched the title before the end of the season, winning seven of the 14 races. He was unlucky to miss out in the Festival, when he slipped to fourth with gearbox problems after leading the early laps. For 2000 Nicolas joined RC Motorsport in the British Formula 3 championship. He was on Pole in only his second outing for the team at Croft, took the first win for the team at Donington Park combined with a Pole and fastest lap, and went on to finish 6th in the championship. 2001 saw Nicolas stay with RC Motorsport who link up with the Prost Grand Prix Team and started the season as one of the Championship contenders. Unfortunately the team had to close down their operations, due to lack if income from Nicolas's teammate, and Kiesa had to move to another series. Hence that Nicolas moved into the German Formula 3 Championship Series with GM Motorsport midseason and immediately started to impress on the new circuits. Nicolas stepped up to the FIA Formula 3000 Championship with PSM Racingline in 2002 and in the teams first year Nicolas took points scoring finishes at Spa and Monza. After several races with the Den Bla Avis team to in the 2003 Formula 3000 Championship, which included a win in Monaco, a podium at the NÃ¼rburgring, Nicolas took the wheel of the PS03 of European Minardi in the Formula 1 championship, in the last five rounds of the 2003 season. He was classified third in the F3000 championship, when he changed to Formula One. Once in Formula One, Nicolas established his name in the historybooks being the rookie with the best finishing record of five consecutive race finishes. In 2004 Nicolas was close to another year with Minardi Cosworth, but didn't quite make it. Instead he stayed close to the team, and helped them in their promotional duties, with their famous two-seater programme. In 2005 Nicolas started of testing the PS04 for Minardi Cosworth in Misano, Italy. After regular contacts with a number of teams, he has clinched a deal with Jordan Grand Prix, taking care of the friday test car from Hockenheim onwards.
