Alfredo Piàn was born in Las Rosas, Argentina. He was a racing driver who entered the 1950 Monaco Grand Prix with a Maserati 4CLT-50 run by Scuderia Achille Varzi. During the Saturday practice sessions, Pián, who had already qualified in 18th place, spun on oil and crashed into the guard-rail and was thrown out of the car. He sustained a broken fibula and not only didn't started the race, but never tried to race in F1 again.
