American racing driver, mainly competing in the National Championship, the second man to win three USAC National Midget Championships, raced both the Championship cars and midgets.

As the Indianapolis 500 counted as a round of the Formula One World championship from 1950 to 1960 his career is credited with participation in 4 grands prix, with 1 podium and 4 championship points scored.

In 1960 won the USAC Pacific Coast Midget title as well as the National Midget Championship. He repeated for the National Midget crown in 1961 and 1962 and during his career won 46 feature events in the small cars. Won the Night Before the 500 midget race three times, twice at Kokomo in 1960 and 1961 and repeated for his third time the next year at the Indianapolis Speedrome. He also traveled to Australia in 1961 and 1962 to compete against Bob Tattersall and the boys down under.

His midget also became famous when it was stolen and then recovered a year later when a driver was killed in the car at Sacramento. Davies was able to recognize the car in the newspaper photos of the wreck. He died at only 37 years old from injuries suffered in a midget crash at Santa Fe Speedway in Chicago.
