William Binnie has been involved in all forms of modern and historic Motorsports for many years including ALMS, LMES and Le Mans as well as the Goodwood Historic Festival, BRDC Championship and the Ferrari Shell Challenge.

William Binnie has been involved in all forms of modern and historic Motorsports for many years including ALMS, LMES and Le Mans as well as the Goodwood Historic Festival, BRDC Championship and the Ferrari Shell Challenge.
William, who was born in Scotland, resides in the United States and has dual British and American nationalities. Has more than 20 years of racing experience, much of it in Europe. He has competed at Le Mans, Monaco, Donington Park, Laguna Seca, Mugello, the Nurburgring, Spa and on the historic Tour de France Auto and Mille Miglia revival events.
He was a class champion in the Ferrari/Shell Historic Championship four consecutive years. Raced professionally for Lotus in European sports car endurance races in 2001 and 2002.
Competed in the 1999 Monterey Historic event at Laguna Seca driving a Jaguar D-type.
Competed in the annual Le Mans historic classic in 2000 and 2002 in a Maserati 300S formerly driven by Juan Manuel Fangio to 1958 sports car race victories at Interlagos and Boavista in Rio.
In 2002 Shell Historic Ferrari/Maserati Challenge racing, had two runner-up race finishes in the Disc Brakes class driving a Ferrari 312 PB during the Spa Ferrari Days classic and a win and a runner-up finish in the Drum Brakes class driving the Maserati 300S. He finished second in both Drum Brakes class events at Misano, Italy, in the 300S.
In the 2002 Tour de France Auto, he drove a Ferrari 250 GT SWB GT car to eighth overall in the scratch classification and second in weighted class. He has also driven the ex-Trossi 1936 Maserati 6CM-1500 open wheel racer in the Monaco and Mugello historic events. Has also competed in rally events such as Monte Carlo and Peking to Paris.
In 2004 he drove the Intersport-Lola at Le Mans, winning the LMP Class, and in the American LeMans Series.
He contines to race Lola sports cars in the American LeMans Series.
