Don Vogler
Don Vogler was from Glen Elynn, Ill. He was an American racing driver who raced on dirt ovals. He died at the Indianapolis Speedrome on May 1, 1981. His son, Rich Vogler also lost his life in a racing accident at Salem Speedway in 1990.

The Don and Rich were both competing in the United States Auto Club midget car feature when during the warmup Don suffered a fatal heart attack before crashing. Witnesses said that they saw Vogler clutch his chest before his car went out of control and hit the outside wall, flipping over.

He had just returned to competition having been banned for hitting an official.
