Brother of George Robson who won the Indy 500 in 1946, Hal raced at Indy three times without much luck. Hal Robson died 26 years ago, he was 85
Hal Robson was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England but first to moved to Ontario and then to the United States in 1924.
His brother, George Robson, was the first post-war Indy 500 winner in 1946. George was killed in a crash at the Lakewood Speedway, Atlanta.
Hal drove in the Indy 500 three times. In 1946 he drove a Bugatti with a Miller engine but failed to finish due to engine problems. In 1947 he went out with drivetrain failure in an Adams/Offy and in 1948 he suffered engine failure again in an Adams Offy.
