Laurence "Captain Bud" Sennett was born in St. Louis, Missouri.
In 1948 he won the ARA 150-lap Pacific Coast Championship race for big cars at Oakland Stadium.
He drove an Oldsmobile 88 in the 1950 Carrera Panamericana with John Walch finishing 5th.
The following year he attempted to qualify a Maserati 8CL (3031) for the Indy 500. Unfortunately he slid into the south wall before spinning into the infield and into a tree.
He died in Keauhou Mauka, Hawaii and was buried at sea.
