Glen Shultz

Glen Shultz is best known for his success at Pikes Peak he took six wins on the hill. He also drove relief for Earl DeVore at Indy in 1925.

Born in Fostoria, Ohio, Glen Shultz is best known for his success on the Pikes Peak hillclimb. He first raced on the hill in 1920 finishing 4th in a Velie. The following year he switched to a Ford and finished 4th. He was third in 1922 and in 1923 set a new record on his way to his first of six wins.

Switching to a Stutz Special and in 1925 he finished second. He drove relief for Earl DeVore at the Indy 500 between lap 92 and 115 in a supercharged Miller.

He took wins at Pikes Peak in 1926 and 1927 and after fitting a driver activated superchgarger, he took another win in 1928.

Superchargers were banned for 1929 but Glen was back with another win in 1930 and after a second in 1931 he was back with two more wins in 1932 and 1933. In 1934 he finished 4th.

This was his last appearance and he died in 1936.
