1982

Ayrton Senna took victory on his debut in Formula 3 at Thruxton in England.

1989

Jaguar entered a new era when the company became a subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company.

1991

The end of the Sportscar World Championship.

Max Mosley, Bernie Ecclestone, and the rest of the FIA's Sportscar Commission met in a hotel at Heathrow Airport in London, England. When the meeting ends, the Sportscar World Championship was ended. Later, lobbying by Peugeot will keep it active for one more year.

2001

Greg Murphy won the first ever V8 Supercar Championship event to be held outside of Australia at Pukekohe in New Zealand.
