Bobby Allison's youngest son, Clifford was killed in a crash during a practice session at Michigan International Raceway.
Clifford Allison was Bobby Allison's youngest son. He started racing in the Limited Sportsman Division in 1983. He also raced in ARCA, All-Pro series. and won the Montgomery International Raceway Championship in 1987.
In 1988 he served as Crew chief for his father.
He was running well in both the ARCA and the Busch series when he was killed in a head-on crash in turn one at Michigan International Raceway during a practice session. He suffered a fractured skull and died instantly. His brother Davey died in a helicopter crash at Talladega just eleven months later.
